Flower Kolam

I did this flower kolam last week for Onam. This is a very simple one, but enjoyed doing it. Small or big, having fun is important. So a good stress buster for me.

Rangoli

Its been a while since I posted here. Learning keeps you busy :-)

I wanted to share a couple of rangolis which I did few backs in my friends home (Thanks to The Kulkarni's for letting me enjoy with my art). Doing these made me feel so happy and relaxed. Rangoli is an art with intricate patterns beautified with colors. It gives you immense pleasure and a positive attitude as it helps your brain (yeah,...... mathematical improvement:-)).

Here are the two rangolis:

Pongal Kolam and A Special Rainbow Kolam

Any festival is celebrated with lots of colored elaborate and decorative pattern drawings at the entrance of the home.Today is pongal and hence calls for even more special decorations. Happy Pongal!

The below kolam can be drawn with the help of dots or straight drawing lines. It can be drawn  small with a plus sign to as big as you can by drawing lines on each side of the plus sign. I drew 5 lines on each side of the plus , used a curved petal shaped ending for the red color and finished this by coloring it in rainbow colors to celebrate Pongal and also to welcome Spring.

Watching me coloring the rangoli, my kids wanted to enjoy their share. Here is their fun - it may and need not be very perfect but having fun and creativity are more important.
